About Inaugural North American Tatar Summit:
We, the ethnic Tatars residing in the USA and Canada who care about keeping our heritage language and culture intact, organized the Inaugural North American Tatar Summit that took place on December 16-17, 2023, in Durham, North Carolina.
The North American Tatar Summit aims to provide a unique opportunity to share Tatar scholarship, heritage, and culture. Our main goal is to preserve and promote the Tatar language through education, collaborations, connections, and competition.
The Tatar Summit was a two-day event full of scholarly and cultural presentations. It offered opportunities to interact, network, and support Tatar communities’ educational, artistic, and entrepreneurial needs.

Inaugural North American Tatar Summit Scholarship
Ramilya Saubanova is a recipient of the Inaugural North American Tatar Summit Scholarship for the series of Tatar concerts and digital dissemination project.
Ramilya’s project is recognized as having the potential to foster an environment for the upkeeping of Tatar music and performance in North America and showcase the beauty of Tatar culture. We believe that the North American Tatar Community will benefit from this platform by encouraging regional collaboration and fortifying the community through a space for artistic expression and cultural preservation. Non–Tatar communities also have the potential to be positively impacted by learning about Tatar music and culture.
